Wordsearch!

Wordsearch! The Multiplayer Word Search Game
Although the concept may sound dreary, Wordsearch is one of the most entertaining and exciting games I know of. More details are on the American Amazon
The game works by putting a word-search onto a circular grid, placing a transparent frame over it and securing it in place with a green circle. To play, you have to find a word and the first person to do so puts their colour counters over it. At the end, the player with the most counters wins. Surprisingly, this game is very competitive and very hard. There are many themes for the game, ranging from countries to colours and none of them take a few minutes to complete!

Bananagrams!

This post is all about the brilliant Bananagrams game! Go to the website here. The object of banana grams is to be the first to complete a mini crossword- all by yourself!

Everyone takes 21 counters and once you have used all of them up, everyone takes another, and another and another until there are no tiles left.

One Drum - African Drumming Workshops For Schools

Hello everyone. I'm sorry that I couldn't post for a while - exams and all that boring school stuff! However, I hope I'll be able to post more frequently now.
This week was AFRICAN WEEK in my school, and we had a variety of workshops each day. Most lessons were African-based and it was really great fun. On Tuesday we had African dancing, while on Wednesday it was African singing for the first half of the afternoon (although we then had to return to our classrooms for some RE, which was not quite as interesting). During lunchtime on Thursday and Friday I was lucky enough to be selected to make African masks to go on display, while Friday morning included my favourite thing of all - African Drumming!

The Victoria And Albert Museum!

Recently, I visited the Victoria and Albert museum in London. I had an amazing time and if you want to find out more, I have linked to the website here. First, we (my grandma, Robbie and I ) visited the Imagination/Creation Station - I cannot remember exactly what it's called- and we were given materials and told to design a boat. They gave us pictures and references of rooms that had boats in for inspiration, and there were instructions on how to create a paper boat. We were equipped with fancy paper, coloured paper, scissors, pencils, a lolly stick and sellotape. It was great fun.

Amy's Kitchen: Spinach Lasagna

I love Amy's Kitchen. The food is yummy and appealing, plus everything is organic. So far, I have tried the macaroni cheese and the Spinach Lasagna. The macaroni cheese is lovely; bite-sized bits of pasta in a smooth, silky cheese sauce. However, I prefer to focus on the lasagna. Resting in an flavour-full Italian style sauce, there lie long pieces of bumpy pasta that melt in your mouth. Sandwiched in between is a smooth, delicious mixture of spinach that I'm sure is appealing to everyone - even though it is a vegetable!

Puffin Post!

Puffin Post is one of the best magazines I have ever come across. Puffin Post is for children aged 9 or older, and Puffin Post For Pufflings is for 7-9 year olds. Both magazines are about books and puffins, and every issue is fun and enjoyable. The Puffin Post website is here. There are six issues of Puffin Post a year, and each one has a selection of books. You can choose one and they will send it to you!

My new slippers!

Hello everyone,
Summer has ended and winter is soon to come! Yesterday, I realised that my old slippers are WAY too small for me, so when I went with my grandma to get some presents for people, I was allowed to get something. It was a hard decision, but I decided to get slippers. They look like the ones in the picture, but are striped and are purple, grey and black. They are called Totes Isotoner Pillowsteps and they are absolutely lovely!

PicGifs.com!

If anyone has a blog already, http://www.picgifs.com/ is a great, fun website and its graphics add fun and colour to any post. My cousin blogged about it, and now I use it for my name at the end of each post, or just for fun. Picgifs has millions of different things to choose from. Here are some...

You can see more details here. Klutz Paper Fashions: Fancy is a book filled with advice and ideas on how to make mini, fancy paper clothes such as dresses and jackets. It comes with lovely coloured papers in all sorts of patterns and colours, that get your mind whirring. Next comes the ribbons and the sequins, along with the glue and mini hangers.

Mouldy cheese OR caramel corn
Rotten egg OR buttered popcorn
Baby wipes OR coconut
Bogeys OR juicy pear.

Horrible Histories Barmy Britain Show

Both me and my brother are die hard Horrible Histories fans and we were really excited to see Barmy Britain. We sat down into our seats, jumped back up again for half a dozen people, and settled down to enjoy the show.

Sip N' Go 500ml Collapsible Water Bottle

I have just received my new water bottle for school and it is fantastic. You can view more details here. My bottle is the purple one and I love it! It holds lots of water and is fun and squishable. You can write your name on it at the bottom and is easy to carry. You can even roll it up to make it smaller or clip it onto your bag or top. Today we went to the theatre and my hands were full, so I rolled my bottle up and clipped it onto my bracelet!

Woburn Safari Park

Hi everyone!
On Saturday, we visited the amazing Woburn Safari Park. You can visit their website here.  First of all, we drove past lots of animals in our car, which was amazing and made the zoo seem like nothing! I really liked the Bongos (animals with reddish brown skin and white stripes.) I was sad to hear that there are only 100 left in the wild. Other highlights were the carnivore section which got you up close to wolves, bears, lions and tigers. We were really scared when they got up close to our car!

Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: Dog Days

Having read the reviews of Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days, I was prepared for the worst as I slowly stepped into the dark cinema and lowered myself into a chair, clutching a frozen yoghurt topped with chocolate honeycomb (yum). However, I was in for a pleasant surprise. Dog Days, the third Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie, was in my, my brother's and my dad's opinion, the best yet. The storyline was great and I liked how they combined two stories - The Last Straw & Dog Days- which I thought was clever as The Last Straw doesn't have as many BIG plots.

Dabbous!

Hello!
Recently, my lovely Auntie took me and my mum to a very posh restaurant called Dabbous. You may view their website here.
The outside may look a bit misleading, but when we stepped inside we were greeted warmly by the smart and friendly waiters and waitresses. As we reached our table, we were given a bowlful of delicious olives, six slices of homemade bread and also fresh butter. It was amazing and the butter tasted so lovely. It was better than supermarket products any day.
We were given a drinks menu, with a wide variety of spirits and cocktails to choose from, and I chose a berry cocktail, which was made specially without alcohol. It was delicious and refreshing and I will eat my hat if I ever experience a greater drink!
